We send warmest congratulations and very best wishes to David Hume, who celebrates his 101st Birthday on Sunday, 10th May 2021.
Sadly, David's beloved wife, Amy, died on Tuesday 4th May, peacefully at home. We have David and his family in our thoughts at this time.
David enlisted in June 1940 and trained at Catterick, before joining the 14th/20th King's Hussars in Meerut in early 1941. He served with the Regiment until demob in October 1945, and he is our last known survivor from the Battle of Medicina on 16th April 1945.
It may seem a bit odd offering 'Birthday Greetings', especially under theses circumstances, but I am confident that David, in his 101 years, has seen it all !
Happy Birthday and best wishes, our thoughts are with you, HUSSAR !
