We've just received some shock news that Singe has died (uncomfirmed).

15:00 Confirmed by Astrid that Singe passed away overnight. Quite unexpected.
14th/20th Kings Hussars 25/05/1953 - 25/05/1977 Sabratha to Herford,

RIP my old friend.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday 4th February, at 15:00 hrs, at Hinton Park Woodland Burial Ground, Wyndham Road, Walkford, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 7EJ, followed by a reception at the burial grounds.

Family flowers only. Donations will go to the British Heart Foundation, a collection will be taken at the service or donations may be sent c/o Co-op Funeralcare at Hinton Park Woodland Burial Ground.

Singe is survived by his wife, Erika and daughter Astrid. Should you wish to write, the address is available from HHQ (01962 828521)

A very sad day, was lucky to call Singe a friend. One of the best Hawks I ever met. Will be sadly missed

Served Hohne and Rheindahlen 1959 - 1962
Libya 1962 Cyprus with C Sqn Dec 1963 - Feb 1964. Returned to Benghazi
then to Tripoli with B Sqn until Sep 1964. Left for Courses in NBC then to 7 Armoured Brigade till 1967.
Transferred to Intelligence Corps 67. First posting to Northern Ireland 67 - 70.
Singapore 70 - 71, Hong Kong 71 - 72. NI 72 - 74. NITAT (Northern Ireland Training and Advisory Team) 74 - 76. Berlin 76 - 79. Final Posting, Preston Int and Security Section. Stupidly Retired on 1 Feb 81, and emigrated to Australia.

R.I.P. Singe, one of the greatest characters ever in the Regiment of great characters. As Bill said 'a lovable rogue' with the emphasis on Rogue. His exploits will live on forever. Again, Rest in Peace, Hussar!
