Re: armed forces down to 1930 level
Guys, I guess you will like the new idea of perhaps reintroducing National Service  ! Personally I don't rate draftees who don't have enough time to get properly trained before being sent to the (any) front. That's exactly what we moan about when the Russians do it ... cannon fodder, yesterye...

Re: armed forces down to 1930 level
John, the best way to provoke an attack is to let your guard down ! What with the housing shortage, over full schools, over loaded NHS, over burdened Police and fire Services, what better excuse to send a million citizens overseas is there than to have a war ? Governments rarely 'change hands' durin...

Re: That seems to be Some Kind of Climate you are having in Europe!
Here on the Costa Calida in sunny Spain we have had less rain than I have spat out in the past 18 months or so. Nevertheless the spuds that I planted on the 6th of Dec are already knee high and I'm looking for two crops this year ! The storm winds are playing havoc with the trees that we planted and...

Stupid
It has been reported that the government want the UK to return to imperial measurements and they claim that the public want this because of Brexit. Well as a keen Brexit supporter l herewith declare that l think this would be utterly stupid! lt is just so much easier to do maths using the metric sys...

Re: Busy night !
Hi Arnie and all, l looked up your Sam ... and listened with interest to how he castrated his opponent with clever words. For me the problem is: both Sam and his verbal opponent are arguing over texts written hundreds of years after the events in question and after countless edits and then many tran...

Re: Busy night !
Hi all, it's not just the Brits that are pissed off with Brussels - the EU Dictatorship, millions are trying to escape as individuals. RV's of all kinds have become a boom industry. Because many are frightened of towing a sizeable caravan they buy Motorhomes. The not so well off buy Ford Transit siz...

Re: Busy night !
l hear where you are comming from guys, but after 4 years in a mobilehome, on a site, l hope that we have gained enough experience. Any 'site' implies neighbours, their yapping dogs, their parties and their DIY projects. Not to mention the farm workers on the fields opposite and in the surrounding c...
