Re: Libyan Floods
Hi all, l read some years ago that, world wide, more dams are built than schools or hospitals ! There seems to be no limit to the amount of water that the ever increasing human population requires. Dams also wreck nature, often preventing fish from returning to their natural breeding grounds. Dams p...

Re: Ged Preston
Sorry to hear of Ged's passing, l remember the name well, though l have no specific recollections of great adventures with him.
Having also lived in Rawtenstall, Rossendale, perhaps we got together there ... during the fog of time.
RiP Ged, you are remembered.

Re: Libyan Floods
Hi all, yes, in relation to the population of Libya, this truely is a dramatic disaster ! Let us all be aware of our own good fortune at times like this ! l don't believe sending food parcels or tents etc. is of any real help, it just clogs up the system. As for you Arnie, you are so old that it's r...

Re: Frank Smith
How very sad it was to hear of Franks passing from two old Hawk friends who thought that l really aught to know and so mailed me directly. Not being on FB, l now feel privilaged to offer my condolences, here on Noahs ARC, to his family and loved ones. Like Johnny Morris, l was never in the same troo...

Re: Popped by for a visit.
Was in Fort Bravo recently, in the middle of Europe's largest desert, looked a bit like where you guys were flying the flag. There they made many of the spaghetti westerns (l don't get it either ... itackas in spain) great day out though. No need to go to Canada to hear 'play me the song of death'. ...

Re: Lady Lions
Hi Pinky and all, the Spanish trainer is getting a real shafting, for a stolen kiss. I'm sure he is an 'arse', but what a fuss, what a storm in a tea cup ! He's being treated worse than a rapist, what is the world coming to ? If I'd made such a fuss about all the girls that have stolen kisses from m...

I guess I'm an oddball because I really don't like football or any other tribal sports which lead to hysterical behaviour by crowds of ... hooligans. That said, I guess I should have watched the Lionesses representing our country and coming second place in the world cup, a splendid effort ! Well don...

Re: Mick Elgie
What an odd lot we Hawks are ! Here is a guy who, by all accounts, served 24 years in our regiment and nobody can remember him ? I don't, well not really, though the grey matter tells me I know the name ... Clearly his family thought the world of him, so he can't have been all that bad, even if he d...
