Re: Bill Bingham

RIP Bill,
I was your driver in Benghazi and Tripoli when you was my troop sergeant. You was my mentor and I thank you for that. I was your wingman then and considered myself as such. Rest in peace.

Re: Connie Bingham

RIP Connie
Bill was my first troop sergeant in Benghazi and Tripoli in 1964 when I was 18. In Tripoli I was asked by Bill several times to babysit for them and remember with affection having a lift back to camp in bill's tiny blue Fiat motor car. Where have those years gone.

Re: Political Jokes (and I don't mean those like Joe Biden)

Heard on CNN
Mike Pompeo is the most outspoken US foreign secretary who only directs all his words to an audience of one at the White House. He is like a heat seeking missile heading directly to the President's posterior.

Re: Never did time in the Guardroom!

Contrary to most people's experience I have enjoyed every moment of this national lockdown. Instead of taking my wife of 52 years (same as JK) shopping every day and for an expensive coffee I have been at home and able to complete my autobiography of my working life. In the spirit of the current con...

Re: Bob Smith 23891021

Hi Mick, Thank you for the information about Bob Smith. I am so sad to hear of his passing. So many of us old timers have gone to the other place early and some of us somehow keep going. This is the second high flyer (civilian pilot) who died of cancer 5 years ago I have heard of this week. Take car...

Bob Smith 23891021

I just wonder what happened to Bob Smith. I knew him from when we were both 15 in the JLR and then in the 14/20th Benghazi, Tripol to Germany onwards. Bob was predicted to be a high flyer being ex-Jnr RSM but when I left for the AAC I lost contact. I knew his army number for all of us mates at that ...

Re: Mr Ray Lawton, 22 January 2020

Margaret and I attended the funeral of Ray Lawton this afternoon. With about 30 relatives and neighbours there we were the only unknown couple attending and when asked by the funeral director if we were family I said we were there representing the 14/20th Kings Hussars to pay our respects to an old ...
